Short intro
PRAGMATA is Capcom’s upcoming sci-fi action-adventure set in the near future, blending third-person combat with a unique real-time hacking twist. You play as astronaut Hugh Williams alongside Diana, a mysterious android girl, as the duo fights their way through a cold, high-tech lunar facility filled with hostile machines and looming secrets.
Story overview
After a disaster strands them on a moon research station, Hugh and Diana become targets of a hostile AI system controlling the facility. To survive and find a way back to Earth, they must work together—Hugh handling the firepower and movement, while Diana breaks enemy defenses through hacking, revealing weak points and opening paths forward. The story leans into classic Capcom sci-fi mystery vibes, with AI as both threat and companion at the heart of the narrative.
Gameplay Mechanics (PRAGMATA)
PRAGMATA is a sci-fi third-person action adventure that mixes familiar shooter movement with a signature twist: real-time hacking puzzles you solve mid-combat. You control Hugh (the fighter) while Diana (his android companion) hacks enemies and systems, turning battles into a “shoot + puzzle” combo instead of pure gunplay.
Dual-Character Control (Hugh + Diana)
The game is built around using both characters at once: Hugh handles movement, dodging, and weapons, while Diana supports by hacking and interacting with tech. The teamwork angle isn’t optional—it’s the core of how you survive and progress.
Combat = Shooting + Hacking Puzzle Pressure
Robotic enemies are heavily armored, so straight shooting isn’t enough. Diana’s hacking can break/disable defenses and reveal weak points, letting Hugh do meaningful damage but you have to solve a grid-style puzzle while enemies are still attacking in real time. It’s a constant “dodge while you think” flow.
Mobility and Evasion Tools
Hugh’s kit supports fast repositioning—dodging and using mobility tools (like a jetpack-style burst) to survive while you’re busy hacking or reloading. Staying alive is about movement discipline, not just tanking damage.
Exploration and System Hacking
Hacking isn’t only for fights. Diana can also hack doors and other systems to open routes and clear obstacles, so the same mechanic drives both combat advantage and world navigation.
Chapter Structure, Hub, and Upgrades
Progression is described as chapter-based with a hub-like structure where you can upgrade gear and deepen the Hugh/Diana partnership (including collectibles that tie into progression). This feeds back into how you approach hacking vs. shooting—more tactical, more action, or a balanced mix.
